Celebrating Earth Day Through a Photo Contest

Every April 22nd, billions of people around the world celebrate Earth Day. This annual event serves as a global call to action, reminding us that collective, small actions can create a large-scale, positive impact. Earth is experiencing a multifaceted, anthropogenic environmental crisis — marked by pollution, resource depletion, loss of biodiversity, and severe climate events — and needs our help. 

This April, CSS incentivized Employee Owners to spend time helping the Earth by organizing a photo contest. To enter, individuals had to participate in an activity that supports their local environment and submit a photo of their work. Contest entries spanned a wide range of activities, from picking up litter to building bluebird trails, educating people on recycling, collecting bathymetry data on a kayak, planting native flowers, and more.  

Dozens of CSS employees voted for their favorite photo, and the winner received a $250 gift card! Thank you to everyone who dedicated personal time to carrying out the company mission — building a healthier and more environmentally sustainable world for all — in honor of Earth Day. We look forward to doing a similar initiative next year!
